Abstract

Language is an important index of civilization identity. In Indo-Pak Subcontinent the way clash of civilizations affected local languages were clearly elaborated by Iqbal. In Iqbal's opinion the language of nation can only survives if it is strong enough to retain identity during the clash of civilization. In order to remove identity of Muslims' civilization in subcontinent, Sanskrit was mixed in their local languages, sometimes civilization war was initiated by declaring Urdu, Arabic and Persian languages and Muslim specific languages. unglish men purposefully encouraged racial conflicts and initiated civilization clashes in subcontinent likewise, unglish language severely affected Urdu language. In Iqbal's opinion, this clash of civilization created a big gap between Muslims and their local languages. Iqbal always appreciated the people who contributed in the progress and dissemination Urdu of language.
