Abstract

The progressive movement (taraqqi pasand tehreek) which commenced from the end of the third decade of the twentieth century is considered important due to its highly diverse effects. This movement had a deep influence on the literature of its time. Rasheed Akhter Nadvi is romantic novelist who emerged during the fourth decade of the twentieth century. He wrote sixteen romantic novels. All of these novels became popular as they were well suited to that time’s trends. In this study, the author has analyzed the progressive approach and has displayed in his novels. In his novels his interest in the communist and progressive literary  styles is highly visible . His  novel ‘ Tashngai’ is a good example of this observation. Rasheed Akhter Nadvi, in this novel has focused on the unsuccessful dreams of the communist community.
