Abstract
Short story emerged in Urdu literature in the early 20th century. Though the history of urdu short story is short yet it because famous of its attractiveness, it has strenghed its roott. It has become a very famous genre of Urdu literature on account of its literature on account of its nature tracing its history from Prem Chand to Intizar Hussain. Not only male but female writers have contributed a lot in short story writing. The most prominent female writers Qurat ul Ain Haider, Asmat Chughtai, Rasheed Jahan. Bano Qudsia , Hajira Masroor, Khadija Mastoor and several others have made their contribution to the development of said genre. This article discusses the art of short story writing and their female writers of Pakistan.
