Abstract

Dr Abdus Sattar Siddiqi is an expert researcher, critic, editor and Nazeer Akbarabadi, the great poet of the folk tradition, was a man of great creative power in language and socio political vision. He has presented life in various details in his poetic works and reflects the Indian society in lot of colours and images.Nazeer's poetry is truly a reflection of public life which was suffering from countless economic problems in British Raj. There is no aspect of public life that he has not touched by his creative verses. He is the interpreter of a life full of difficulties and sufferings which was facing the layman of Indian society whether he was Muslim or Hindu r even belongs to any other religious beliefs. Nazir's point of view about life is universal but he also expressed the daily life problems of common man by his poetic text because that was the real suffering which was unknown for the elites or also a man associated with the walls of Govt Structure. His far-sighted approach reaches every small and big social problem and the colonial control from all of Indian population was suffering. He has presented social and economic problems from the mind of a common man and from the point of view of a common man. Many of his poems (Mufalsi, Paisa, Aata daal, Rooti.rupiya.Chapatti and Talash e zarr) represent a mind that this article will present the economic aspects of Nazeer's poetry which are related to the problems and relations of a common man and which are still facing the common man of this society today.
