Abstract

Sial Sharif monastery is an important monastery of Chishtiya order. The distinguishing features of this monastery are knowledge and literature. The members of this monastery have cultivated knowledge and literature with heart and soul and have experimented in different genres of poetry, including "Tareekh Goi". "Tareekh Goi" is the most difficult genre of poetry. In this category the poet describes an event in numbers, which is also known as ``ilm-e- abjad''. The elders of Khanqah Sial Sharif and their desendants have honed their skills in this art. This article provides an overview of their "Tareekh Goi".
