Abstract

When British came into India they tried to strengthen their grip
on literature and language like other matters and affairs of
Hindustan. They established Fortwilliam College for this purpose.
When they took over the Punjab they paid more attention on
Punjab Studies. Anjuman-e-Punjab came into being in 1865
under the auspices of British rulers for different purposes. The
objective of this study is to indicate the new shape of poetry which
was deeply effected by Anjuman-e-Punjab.
