Abstract

It is a well known fact that Meer Taqi Meer was sole respresentative of Urdu Ghazal in eighteenth century. He portrayed the human feelings, experinces and historical disasters in his articulated poetry better than his contemporaries. The history of  eighteent century has been dipicted in his Ghazals with art and craft. Meers poetry always quests for great human traditions with the narration of cheerfulness of love and deprived human beings. His great poetic art has made the adversities of life tolerable, bearable and endurable. Through this quality of his poetry he is still a source of inspiration for  modern Urdu Ghazal.
