Abstract

In the backdrop of post-clonial era, exile and a pervasive concern with the myths of identity and anthenticity becomes the most prominent feature of Qurat ul Ain Hyder's works. Displacement, to Hyder is not just an outcome of partition. It depicts the entire dilemma of exiled souls and their life long disapora. She deals with the themes of exile, dispora and laienation as a quest to discover and redefine her cultural and spirtual roots and this attempt is replete with an ambiance of mellow grief, which creates a haunting effect. This article presents a study of diasporic themes in Quratul Ain Hyder's works.
