Abstract

A Qasida as a  single presiding subject, logically  developed and concluded. :ften it isa written in praise of a king or a nobleman. lt is actually a form of Poetry of Pre - lslamic Arabia.Typically  Qasida has  one  main theme  on  whole poetry is focus on  its description and conclusion.     The  traditional Qasida keeps  a single elaborated meter  throughout the  poem and every second line rhymes. This type of Poetry is considered to be one of the most elaborate in world. ln Urdu Qasida is also used  in the context of madih, in which poetry is for parsing a nobleman of a great leader or king. Sometimes Qasida also refers  to  the  poetry in which a  great  event occurred in the  history. Epic is a long narrative poem  written in elevated style, in which heroes  of  great  historical or legendary importance perform valorous deeds. The setting is vast  in scope,  covering great  nations, the  world, or  the universe, and the action is important to the history of a nation orpeople

ln urdu qasida there are elements of epic style whice clearly h  arseen  in the  writings of  famous writers  like Soda, Mir Taqi Mir, Mushafi etc.  The  epic style of  poetry can  also been  seen  in the  poetry of  Ghalib and    Bahadur Shah  Zafar. The  qasidas of  these  poets  elaborates the  deeds  of  warriors and  heroes  on  a  grand  scale. These  writers highlighted cultural norms, cultural values, particularly pertain to heroism in their qasida.
