Abstract

Language and literature are inseparable. As all genres of literature are true reflections of their respective societies that depict moral, social and cultural traditions in their unique ways. This research aims to provide a stylistic analysis of the writings of Wasif Ali Wasif and Francis Bacon in Urdu and English literature respectively. Wasif Ali Wasif and Francis Bacon have a great contribution in the development of prose respectively in Urdu Literature and English Literature. Their writings are known for their aphorism and brevity. Their writings are eternal and influential that attract the readers towards them giving logical and realistic arguments which open up new horizons of thought. Wasif Ali Wasif is a well-reputed essayist and poet. Particularly his prose writings are a true treasure of knowledge and wisdom. His dynamic personality needs no introduction. His writings clearly exhibit philosophical and mystic nature. And similar ideas are dominant in the essays of Francis Bacon. The purpose of this research is make a comparative analysis of styles of Wasif Ali Wasif and Francis Bacon by analyzing their specific writings. We have selected Wasif Ali Wasif's book Dil, Darya, Samandar''and Francis Bacon's "The Essay". Diffrenet comments, research studies, literary works, crictical analysis and ideological writings have been used as reference material.
