Travelogue is an effective way of knowing and assessing the events, circumstances history and civilization of particular region or nation. ''Shigraf Nama­e­Valayat'' is such a mirror that reflects 18th century west with all its vices and virtues. This travelogue was written by Munshi Aitasam­ud­din in 1788. With respect to Occidentalism it enjoys primary importance.
