Abstract

Translation is the communication of the meaning of  a source-language  text  by  m eans  of  an  equivalent target-language text. The English word "translation" derives from the Latin translation. Translation is a difficult art and a translator must have full command over the languages from whom he intends to translate.  This research paper depicts a brief picture of various "safarnamas" travelogues which were translated into Urdu.   This paper also helps the readers to provide details of various "safanames" which were written by notable travel writers and were translated into Urdu.
