Abstract

This article explains Iqbal's views about the topic of "Is Religion Possible?"Iqbal has divided religious life into three periods. He says that religious experience is incommunicable and incommunicability of religious experience gives us a clue to the ultimate nature of ego. He describes that neither the technique of medieval mysticism, nor nationalism, nor atheistic socialism can cure the ills of a despairing humanity. This paper concludes that the basic perception from which religious life moves forward is the present slender unity of the ego and the ultimate aim of the ego is not to see something but to be something.
