Abstract

This research paper discusses the basis of style in literature. Style in literature is the way a writer writes and it is the technique which an individual author uses in his writing. The author's word choice, sentence structure, figurative language, and sentence arrangement all work together to establish mood, images, and meaning in the text establish style. It also comprises many literary devices that an author employs to create a distinct feel for a work. These devices may include symbolism, tone, imagery, diction, voice, syntax, and the method of narration.  Style describes how the author describes events, objects, and ideas.
