Abstract

A Scholar sees the research  conducted  in the fields of  languages  ,especially  in Urdu and Pakistani  languages in the light of research philosophy,  i.e.  Epistemology  and  Ontology.The  definition  of knowledge determines the paradigm of research philosophy.  As the modern  definition of knowledge concludes the knowledge retains with in the  papers,  books  and  libraries  have  only  5 % of the  human knowledge. Language and literary research  only takes its worth if it is in the research  paradigm,  i.  e.  Ontological  , Epistemological,   and Methodological.  There  are  3 research  paradigms  :   Positivism, Interpretivism  and Critical Theory. Language and literary researches may  lie in any of these paradigms. Contemporary research in Urdu and Pakistani languages lack this.
