Abstract

Halqa  Arbab-e-Zauq the  main  streem  of modern  Urdu  literature was founded  in Lahore  in 1939. In those days Lahore  had  become the  huh  of culture, music,  paintings  and  literature. Halqa  was flourshed  in this unique  ambiance  and  its main  concentration was focused on modern  poetry  and  fiction. The critics of Halqa  created a model  of criticism  for the  evaluation  of new literature. The

system of امتزاجی تنقیدwas introduced by Meeraji.  Halqa adopted  this system  and  it was further carried out  with  many  changes  and additions.  This  paper is telling  the  story of criticism in Halqa Arbab-e-Zauq.
