Abstract

Plagiarism is an intellectual  corruption, it is also considered  as act of fraud.  This issue is now a days common in academic  institutions. HEC  is striving hard for quality  of education  and  research in universitiesof  Pakistan. So due to this problem,  it was necessary  to develop  a  policy  regarding dealing  with  complaints  of plagiarism and  its  awareness  among  the  faculty,  researcher and  students   of Pakistani universities.  The purpose  of this paper  is to highlight  the role  of HEC  in  context  of plagiarism policy,  another aim  of this paper  is to provide  awareness  to university  students  and  faculties regarding important elements  of policy  especially  working of plagiarism  standing  committee  and  forms  penalties  in  case of allegation  of plagiarism is proofed.
