اردو شاعرات 1857ء سے پہلے ایک نسوانی تاریخ

Abstract

Since old times women are writing poems. The primitive  signs  of poetry can be found in early Deccan poetry. Wherein a large number of poets  and poetesses  were living  together.   The first  poetess  who compiled her poetry was Mah Laqa Chanda Bai (1181H-1240H)  she belonged  to Deccan.  Her Poetry  book  was  compiled  in 1213H  (1798). Her real name was Chanda Bai, title  Mah Laqa and her literary name was Chanda. Some Researchers are of the opinion that the first poetess having her poetry book was Lutfunisa Imtiaz, born in 1176H. According to them the poetry book of Lutfunisa was compiled a year before Mah Laqa.
