Abstract

Some people are of the opinion that the trend of essay started in Urdu from the inspiration  of English literature. In this article it is  stated that Fort William College  and Dehli College  trained  their  pupils for writing Urdu essays. These two institution had an important role for promotion of Urdu litrecture.
