Abstract
Allama Muhammad Iqbal(1877-1938) started poetry in an early age. He translated into urdu some poems of the English poets as William cooper, Longfellow,Tennyson and Emersonin the begining of his poetry. These poems written for children were full of action and dynamism.The poem " The Mountain & The Squrril" is also included in these poems.This Poem was written by the American Poet Emerson. Iqbal represented its central idea in the form of a long poem, but at the time of publication of " The Bang e Dra" only selected couplets of this poem were included. Sufi Ghulam Mustafa Tabassum translated these slected couplets into Punjabi in 1974. This poetic translation of Sufi Sahib is beeing published for the first time by this article.
